Hello there,
my name is Philipp Schreitmüller. I’m a Computer Science master student at Technical University Munich. I finished my Bachelor studies in April 2014. Special interests lay in the field of Android and Web Development. I worked as a tutor at “Introduction to Informatics II” where functional programming was taught. After that, I have been working as a working student at epooly (now marketing-2) for several years. In this time I developed custom typo3 and WordPress plugins. Moreover, I modified legacy, static HTML websites with small CMS functionality to update news and pictures for example.
I spent my winter term 2014 in Dublin (UCD) as ERASMUS student. There I took classes in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Parallel Programming, and Spatial Databases. Back in Germany, I did an internship at a Software Consulting company, where I was and still am involved with projects in the insurance, automotive field. My scientific interests shifted to Big Data and Machine Learning thus I took classes in Distributed Data Mining and Internet-scale distributed systems. I finished my Master studies in 2016 and started working as a Software Engineer/Software Consultant at itestra a small but excellent software consulting/software engineering company with a strong affiliation to academic computer science.
After spending a bit more than twos years at itestra and gathering valuable experience in the field of legacy application migration and software health checks, I used the opportunity to join a large corporation where I will continue my professional journey.
It’s a privilege to work in a field you’re 100% passionate about and I enjoy that every day!

Besides Software Development and Tech, I also do a lot of sports in my spare time. Windsurfing and Mountainbiking are my favorites but I also run quite much.
My third big passion is music. I played piano and saxophone in the school’s Big Band in my childhood which has been a huge benefit. At the moment I listen to a lot of different music. I’m a huge fan of BBC Radio 1/ 6 Music. Especially the show of Zane Lowe, Danny Howard, Annie Mac, Gilles Peterson, Charlie Sloth and Pete Tong.
Have fun reading my blog!
