Recently I stumbled across a range range of problems concerning the installation of tools that interact with network adapters and their settings mainly the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client which is necessary to log into the university VPN. After this installation failed I tried out OpenVPN but it failed as well because no TAP adapters could be installed. After a lot of searching I came across a solution which suggested that the combination of Windows 10 and Kaspersky 2015 may be the problem.
It’s not sufficient to just pause the protection but you have to really unistall Kaspersky 2015 and install the newest Kaspersky 2016. Not worries, it will run with your old license. That solved the problem for me 🙂
