Compare Garmin Products from different categories

  • 29. April 2015

I stumbled across a small problem when comparing different Garmin products:
The Garmin webshop offers the possibility to compare products from the same category such es Edge 810 and Edge 1000. But in my special case I wanted to compare some Edge models with Oregon models. These products don’t belong to the same category. Just by clicking, you aren’t able to compare them properly.

But there’s is the possibility to copy the ProductIDs  from the URL of the detail pages into the compare page. For example the Garmin Oregon 600 has the URL https://buy.garmin.com/de-DE/DE/outdoor-freizeit/handgerate/oregon-600/prod113532.html

Thus the ProductID is 113532. The compare page can be reached via

https://buy.garmin.com/de-DE/DE/catalog/product/compareResult.ep?compareProduct=xxxxxx&compareProduct=yyyyyy

Obviously the compare page retrieves the input by GET. So you can just insert your ProductIDs in the URL. For example the comparison of the Oregon 600, Edge 1000 and Edge 810.
